My Organization/s:
Brunei Darussalam AIDS Council is a Non-Profit Organisation where its main objective is to raise awareness on HIV & AIDS in the country. It aims to educate the public on related issues, the likes of Sexually Transmitted Infection, Unwanted Pregnancy & Social Issues.

The Council uses multiple approaches in reaching its objectives; youth work & trainings, youth & community participation, outreach programmes, voluntary work, media coverage, collaboration with other agencies etc.

In 2007, the Council's President received the Meritorious Youth Leader Award from His Majesty The Sultan of Brunei Darussalam during National Youth Day for her effort of setting up of Penyinar Club. The club is the youth division of the council and is organised and managed by the young members of mostly 14-26 age range.

Below are also some of the awards won:
- 2005/2006: Commonwealth Youth Silver Award from Commonwealth Youth Programme for 'Penyinar Club' project
- 2007/2008: Commonwealth Youth Silver Award from Commonwealth Youth Programme for "HIV Awareness Programme' project
- 2008: B-@ktif Silver Medal from Youth & Sports Department for 'HIV Awareness Programme for Peers & Youth (HAPPY)' project
My Involvement on HIV & AIDS:
Attended Commonwealth Youth Ambassador for Positive Living Workshop in Chandigarh, India in 2007 & 2nd UNESCO Asian Youth Forum on "Sustainable Community in Asia" in Gwangju, Korea.

Appointed as a Commonwealth Youth Ambassador for Positive Living. Currently holding Vice President (Activities & Events) for my NGO.

Literally going around the country doing HIV awareness activities, especially for our project titled HAPPY (HIV Awareness Programme for Peers & Youth).

Currently holding a Diploma in Youth Development Work.
My participation at the 9th ICAAP:
As a youth participant & will be presenting HAPPY at 9th ICAAP. See you there!

LATE ABSTRACT SUBMISSION

The late-breaker abstract submission now opens from 1 - 30 June 2009. A small number of late breaker abstracts will be accepted for oral and poster presentation during the Congress. However, the percentage of late breakers will depend on the number of submission and the selection will be more rigorous than for regular abstracts.
